FIRE1 is a Dublin-based MedTech innovator developing connected medical devices that empower people living with heart failure to regain control of their lives. Their groundbreaking solution, NORM, uses cutting-edge sensor technology and smart connectivity to monitor patients’ hearts remotely — improving outcomes, enhancing quality of life, and reducing overall healthcare costs.
What were the main challenges the customer was Facing?
We worked with FIRE1 to understand their challenges and the overall requirements for the solution. As FIRE1 prepared for clinical trials, they needed a secure, scalable mobile solution to manage the patient smartphone devices used in daily heart monitoring. Each patient would have an implant fitted wear a lightweight belt for a few minutes each day, using a Samsung smartphone running the FIRE1 app in kiosk mode to transmit health data securely to medical teams. The key challenges included:
• Ensuring data security and regulatory compliance
• Managing hundreds of devices remotely across multiple clinical sites
• Simplifying deployment, update management, and ongoing device management
How did we solve their challenges?
MacroEV partnered closely with the FIRE1 technical and business teams to design a tailored solution built on the Samsung Knox platform. Our experts documented requirements, developed and configured a comprehensive Knox Suite solution — including Knox Manage, Knox E-FOTA, and Knox Mobile Enrolment — and deployed Samsung XCover7 devices to ensure durability, security, and ease of management. MacroEV handled all logistics from device ordering and staging to lifecycle management, delivering a fully managed, compliant, and scalable mobility solution.
